Evening mountain picnic-ing

Summer is here,  although you woulden't know it by what we have been doing (work work work)
my sibs organized and shopped for a fantastic mountain evening grill out by the rushing creak, it was so incredibly green, fresh and vibrant, these pictures hardly do it justice.

My sister made the delicious chocolate cake (sidenote : she just had a baby) and my brother, AKA uncle Deo, swung the kids around like sacks of potatoes ( they loved it)
Baby peered in curiously at his cousin, a fellow baby M (baby Martina)
and a lovely time was had by all.
Happy Monday !

Purple cornflowers

There are fields of flowers everywhere right now, this beautiful blue patch is right by the kids school

A little girl can get lost in this fairy garden....
happy wednesday

Waldorf

Today is the kids last day of school, for Z that means an awesome hike to the mountains, and
for I a picnic with her friends, and a potluck for the parents.
I feel so lucky that the kids get to attend Waldorf school, as a former Waldorf child myself I love to watch how it nurtures their creativity and their love of nature, art and music, makes my heart happy, and theirs.
Here is a peek inside their classroom:
silks and fairly crowns, of course

gnomes and dolls with no faces
each child has a basket for their handwork
where else would a boy play in a pink silk cape?

seasonal nature table, just like at home
sewing their own doll blankets

each child is given a mug with an animal symbol, Imani is a swan
making may pole crowns
Zions play, the 12 dancing princesses, so sweet

What will your kids be doing this summer break?
I must admit I have slacked off on the summer camp front, I dont know how we will be keeping occupied, except for endless house work (booring, say the kids)
Happy tuesday

Boys and Bugs

Late this afternoon Zion found a Cicada bug in the yard, he played with it for hours, pretending it was lost in the amazon jungle (the yard grass) .
Mister baby M was very interested too

then baby M climbed on top of his brother and sat down hard (favorite pastime)

while their sister made another flower cake, she can't be bothered with bugs

Happy saturday afternoon!
I am personally ready to have my hubby back, this man has been gone morning noon and night for 2 weeks and 2 days straight, working on our house.
Proud of you, and thanks honey!
but we miss you here
