I grew up in Italy, and memories of summer meant many stops at roadside farm stands, wooden fruit crates and juicy fresh produce, talk about locally sourced.
Can you believe summer has gone by, and that this was our FIRST visit to a farmstand? shame shame.
I was hungry for super fresh corn on the cob, sun ripened tomatoes and baby fingerling potatoes, and green beans, and that is just what we found, and had for dinner! along with a roast chicken and a peach crisp with whipped cream, also from the farm stand, yum,
farm fresh food is just a whole other ball game, in the taste department.
This farm also had a you pick it Zinnia patch! which had miss Imani very happy
While this visit definitely made for a delicious dinner,
behind the scenes it was hot, the kids got their legs scratched up running through the fields, and developed instant allergies to something, corn pollen? and had to come home and shower.
You win some you lose some.
Happy tuesday
