Handmade spiderwebs, gnomes and a painted door

I shamelessly lifted this idea from another favorite blog,
I thought other moms out there would appreciate the non gaudy and homemade look of these spooky webs!
Black tulle, thick white cotton yarn, a large needle and scissors are all you'll need.

Imani sewed these beautiful wool gnomie's at school
and I painted our shed door,  just because I can!

So here are a few things I have been working on, in response to a friend who asked:
"what have you been making lately", like besides dinner you mean?
Happy Wednesday!

In which a giant air balloon nearly lands on my house

This morning hubby called me as he was driving out to work to tell me a giant hot air balloon was about to land on our house
(not really, but that's what it looked like!)
no zoom lens here, these are right out our front door

Of course baby M was beside himself.
Woulden't you want to be on this thing on a gorgeous fall morning?
I would, if i wasn't afraid of heights.
Happy Tuesday

weekend recap

Again, finding it kind of hard this year to feel inspired about the coming of winter, and not pulling out my camera too much lately.
Being that my children are great traditionalist though, we have started a bit of halloween decorating.
Our made of bamboo hand painted day of the dead skeleton on the front door:

Francis children crowd pleaser, fake webs all over our yard
here go the leaves....
truly the colors are magnificent

tempertures are dropping though, and i spent some time bringing in our plants to the sunroom
and I finally finished baby M's earth toned fall hat

Other happenings, Imani got her hair braided, we had good friends over, and went  to a pig roast at beautiful CURE farms,
there happened to be a big field of pumpkins nearby, things are getting fall exciting.
today I woke up sick,
but non the less,
happy Monday!

Throwback thursday

Seems like yesterday we were snapping pics on a sunny fall morning in our yard, but its hard to believe a whole year has passed us by, and that baby M had quite this many rolls.

Wishing you a great day ~

Just another morning

Grabbing my camera as fast as I can to try and capture some early morning sweetness in between the mad rush for school, with the golden morning light streaming in the windows.

Sharing ceral with each other
this is how its done, arms overlapped

big brother so sweetly reading the same favorite book over and over and over

today was her day to be flower girl and bring the bouquet for the week,
a vision in pink glads
goodbye kisses with mosquito bitten faces
bye mom!

This is what happens after this:
Baby M waves and says:
"bye nanni, bye yaya, bye dadda,
long after the car is out of sight.

Happy tuesday!
