Inspired by this clever and gorgeous map table my friend Katie Brown made, and also in need of a much larger art space for Imani, we embarked on our own map crusade
First hubby built her this long rectangular desk, and i painted the top white
then i semi-glued on a world map to the top, and trimmed the excess paper
then i spread glaze over the top

We also found this amazing world map, I have been wanting a giant wall map forever, feels like a necessary tool for little multicultural children trying to orient themselves in the world:
for example, we found out that Scotland is actually an island(Steve) that that little boot shaped country is Italy, where mommy grew up, Everest is in Nepal (Zion) Africa sort of looks like a heart! (Imani) and there is PANAMA!!
