Sometimes inspiration resides no further then in your own back yard.
Imani begged me to paint leaves with her yesterday afternoon, and although not quite in the mood to paint (see, 6 loads of unwashed laundry) I obliged.
She ran around collecting the prettiest leaves she could find, and when I went to fetch paper and paint I found her curled up on wicker couch ardently studying the colors and veins of a beautiful leaf.
The artists conundrum is how exactly to capture and replicate the beauty we feel in the world, or the pain, or the emotions and feelings.
Sometimes its fun to just effortlessly sit on the floor and sketch, on a warm fall afternoon.
can you tell which one is painted and which one is real? ;)

How are you capturing the feeling of fall?
Happy weekend!
