An off day

Some days are just hard, even in paradise, even when you have everything in the world to be grateful for.
Yesterday was one of those, nothing seemed to ever go quite right.

The kids have been wanting to write a message in a bottle, and throw it out to sea.
I wrote a poem, Imani drew a picture of an island (but i cant get it to turn, see? bad day)
Zi wrote a note, but wouldnt let us include it, because we got into an argument about his spelling, booo!
Hubby did cook a wonderful seafood stew, i guess that in itself really should have made it a good day, it was delicious, those are dumplings in there, or "spinners" as they are called on Jamaica where this food is from

painted drift wood i collected on the shore yesterday, projects are stirring
ok, so we went off to sea to throw our bottle
hope someone  finds our bottle and reads our message!
M is sweltering and cranky
then we decided to visit the organic farm on the island, Luminaris, but  it was soooo overcast, hazy, muggy sweltering humid gasping for air kind of a day, the kind that makes you want to just lie completely immobile so you stop itching and perspiring profusely. The farm is amazing in spite of the heat, and there are unbelievable plants in every square foot
a plethora of lily pads
the locals call this fruit "chiny gembelin" grenadilla in spanish? no clue, its super tart, and  unfortunately Bruce who runs the whole thing and is himself a walking encyclopedia, was gone to town for the day (told you,bad day)
In case you have been living your whole life wondering what a Patchouli plants looks like, i give you: Patchouli! (this one's for you mom)
pink ginger flower
We brought home a jackfruit that was too ripe and had to be tossed, my shoe fell in the water and took off to the open sea, the kids whined and were hot, and on and on and on.
Highlight however was getting to see a  one month old baby cow that was rejected by its mother at birth, nursing from her giant bottle at our neighbors house, too sweet for words.
