Pool times

Its summer and the livin' is eaaasyy
well sort of, this was a haul to get the kids to a pool in a town 20 minutes away, why? because we are bored with our pool and wanted to pool hop.
If you are asking yourself why all the shots are on land, the kids look mopey, and the pool is empty, i will tell you:
it was thundering and cloudy, and they wouldnt let us in!
happy times

We did still manage to swim for about half an hour.
Summer, the best laid plans
Happy thursday

A bucket of zinnia's

In late spring I let Imani sow zinnia seeds to her little heart's content in a blue metal bucket.
Every day she has watched them grow into their full summer glory.
They kind of perfectly match our new rug.
~Enjoy~ !

Toddler unattended

In case you are not clear on the look he is going for: I will break it down for you

that's a heavy dusting of bronzer on his right cheek
pink lipgloss (including some strategically applied to his forehead
and mascara, almost in the right spot.
and thats a toddler unattended while his mother tries to make dinner in the summer heat.

Happy Friday

Botanical flag garland

Have I mentioned that it has been brutally hot these last few days? It was hard to get these girls into the south facing sunroom for an art project, but our rainbow flag garland has
been falling to pieces, which is the idea really, that art should have a shelf  life, and then you get to make new, re-inspired art!
We decided to make all plant sizes and shapes

observing from the garden
here is one, so fresh and vibrant

and the girls got to take theirs home, so proud of all their beautiful work

How are you and your family surviving the heat?
