Wreaths and things

Every holiday season I find myself thinking sbout wreaths, and what alternative and interesting ways I can make one..and while I love a good evergreen, here are a couple different takes

 

Last year's: kente cloth bows and wooden beads.

 

 This year's: cotton yarn wrapped around a straw wreath, bright and pretty on our door.

 

Other goings on: these beautiful and complicated paper star ornaments I learned to make the other day at my friend Lise's, whew, talk about teaching an old dog new tricks, these sure took long

So worth it!
and lastly, my beautiful Amaryllis bulb is already blooming, it was supposed to be in time for xmas, but we are enjoying it non the less.

Yarn bombing, continued

 

 

 

This time it was the big Silver Maple in our front yard, I was initially inspired to use one of the large brown circles that was a hat I was working on for hubby, that I never seemed to be able to finish, guess it was meant for a yarn bomb instead!

8 years

Ago I was in my twenty some thing hour of labor with my Z, on the little Island of Bocas in the caribbean sea, and it was pouring rain...

 

 

 So grateful to have this tall beautiful boy here now

 Birthday book, a collection of photos and poems of the year, we will go until each child turns 10, that is 30 books for this here mama! whew

A wonderful time was had by all, especially the most handsome of 8 year old boys, sunny day, ice skating  happiness with  friends from all walks of his life, great gifts,  birthday banners hand made by mama,, chocolate pomegranate cake from scratch, lots of work, sigh, but HAPPINESS all around ♥♥♥♥ Happy birthday party to my wonderful boy (real bithday in a few days)
