Basti days

After red frog beach we hopped over to Bocas to see the maska's, to the terrified excitement of the kids.
I didn't get the best pictures, but really these suits and masks are such a creative testament to these young boys artistic abilities. All hand sewn, adorned with feathers, bells, hair and some even lights it is a race to who can come up with the most terrifying and over the top costume.
They only come out once a year for Carnaval, and whip and dance and chase people

back home to clean our yard. We have a colony of little red frogs by our rain water tank
Malawi explores the jungle behind our house
and eats a mango as big as his head for breakfast
up high on our deck, so peaceful among the trees
Carenero island late afternoon, sand flies galore!
morning snuggles
taking a trip up bush to visit steve's farm, eating cacao fruit, drinking coconut water, spotting a sloth! and picking limes
view off the rock behind the house up bush, so incredibly primordial. I hope one of our kids build a house right here by this very spot someday.
incredible vines hanging off a tree

cooking fireside at steves farm
this pic does not do justice to the color of this plant, bright fuchsia
current bedroom window view: jungle
view of our yard and playhouse from kids bedroom window, those are white mangrove sticks on the ground, we will fill them with sea gravel to make a path
Zion at the very bottom down there, heading to grandpas
yesterday we went snorkeling, found the most amazing healthy reef, total magic under there
and then to this little ones birthday, Steves youngest brother Andy, who turned 6 yesterday.
