Panama: before it started to rain and wouldn't stop

Well here we are again, in a place that holds so many cellular memories of us.
When I step foot off that first boat I am always reminded of this entire other life we have lived and known so well here,on this far little corner of the world.
This first trip to the beach was nice, an escape from the overwhelm of the state of our home, and all the to do and to fix lists awaiting us.
Although much has changed around our property this time, our view remains
fishing off grandpas wharf again
there is a new little park and that orange house is a community center, some progress
my niece lulu in her new dress
evening view off our deck

driving us home

Happy thursday.

Panama, first days

Here we are, exactly one week from taking that first fateful plane out of the desolate snow land.
The plane was delayed due to ice, and we pretty much knew we weren't going to make the connecting flight, still we jumped on, unwilling and unable to turn back for home.
Looong story short, due to weather, delayed flights, over booked flights,Carnaval and lost baggage, it took us almost a week to get home, and in this order:
1 shuttle
1 plane
1 shuttle
1 plane
1 taxi
1 taxi
1 bus
1 taxi
and 2 boats to finally arrive.
Here we are, waking up to a sunny day in Panama City
lots of hair braiding happening on the street, getting ready for Carnaval
Finally on the first boat, headed for our island

meeting Dante again
