A new addition

Its been a couple weeks now since we have acquired a new baby, a little girl kitten that remains unnamed.
She was promised to us right before we left our old place, born to a litter across the street, she is  little and sweet as can be

unfortunately we have also had some loss.
One of our brother kitties disappeared during the move, we miss him every day,
and.....Butterfly Francis? Santa's gift to the kids flipped herself out of her fish bowl and onto the ground, where sadly,
 she perished.
Zion was busy and sad that afternoon, and when I went out to water the yard later that day, this is what I found:
He built a cross to mark her gravesite :(
and this is what her epitaph reads:
Dead fish named (butterfly)
sad
sorry.
Dont know if we can be trusted with fish anymore frankly, we are developing quite the poor track record.
Happy Monday

A little sad

To be moving, among the joy of new beginnings and new possibilities, comes the loss of the comforting and familiar. We have lived for 6 years in a place were my children ran almost free, free to roam into others people's un-fenced yards and pick flowers, free to cruise around on their bikes and scooters, where lots of little children mingled, and people don't have much money, which creates community in it of itself.
We will miss lots and lots of things,
EXCEPT OUR ACTUAL PAINFUL SQ. FOOTAGE!
that just could not be remedied here, and our children are only getting bigger.

goodbye  dinner on a blanket in the yard
I will miss this rosebush, which blooms every year on my mothers birthday

Onwards and upwards!  today is moving day,
and I hope who lives here next will enjoy it as much as we did.
Happy tuesday
