Tis' the season...christmas tree and Santa Lucia

I go in waves with Christmas, some years I am excited about it, and I feel festive. Other years its a real effort to muster the spirit.
This year was one of the latter... we rallied to this little tree stand that sells exclusively tree's thinned from Rocky mountain national park. It was small and sweet, and they even had two real reindeer ! Amazing animals.
Colorado pine trees are thin and wind swept. They don't have the thick boughs and spicy scent of the scotch or balsam fir, but their simplicity sort of symbolize how I would like to go about the holidays this year...
nice to run into a friend who snapped this pic for us :)

Skip to St Lucia, the children's beautiful watercolor Menorah's on the wall's
I love this picture, daddy lighting her candles, she got to be Santa Lucia! oldest 2nd grade girl

She held her head so straight and still, her candles never blew out!
Happy Monday
