To Wizard beach with the horses

Many years ago, before the advent of so many fiber glass boats with speedy motors on the island (around the time I first met Steve) it was much harder to get to all the islands farthest beaches, the nearest and easiest to get to was first beach, or "Wizard beach" it is a beautiful walk, if it hasnt rained and there isnt too much mud on the trail, but it is steep, going down on the way there, and straight up on the way back, which you dont think much of, until you are heading home, drained and hot, sandy and sun beaten, hungry and thirsty and tired, only to be faced with that steep uphill climb.
Now imagine this with 3 whiny children, 2 backpacks, a surfboard, 2 dogs, a bag full of driftwood that keeps poking you in the legs, and 2 horses. Wooah

Waiting to get the horses
hormiguita, "little ant" a tiny little thing
navigating barb wire and sticks and mud, harder then it looks
Glory,
this boy gaining confidence with himself and with the horses
wizard beach, always a lively ocean
taking the dog in for a rinse
sea grapes and strawberry guavas

on our way home, this fern forest, how incredible is it?
guava, so abundant right now they are just plop plopping off the trees, the horses stopped to eat them

letting the horses go out to pasture
Whew, that was fun and a lot of work too
dinner, bathing and rinsing 3 kids awaited us

Happy wednesday,
we have now been here 2 weeks!
